- BOX BREATHING! :D This is something my doctor taught me when I was first having panic attacks. It doesn’t 100% stop everything but it helps you regulate your breathing.
This is all personal experience, and may not work for your partner, but for me when I’m hyperventilating from a panic attack, in order to stop, I’ll hold my breath for four seconds, breathe in for four seconds, hold it for four seconds, breathe out for four seconds, hold it for four seconds, and repeat.
I only worry that if she has shortness of breath and asthma this could be different for her, but maybe she could try. If you can, take a seat and try it incase she feels light headed.
